Merry Christmas!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was so fun this year. The kids were SOOO excited and couldn't wait to go trick-or-treating. We did our traditional routine. Head to a few houses in our neighborhood. Go see what our cousins are dressed as and then end the night at the Harry Potter House. This has been a tradition for about 3 years. A family in Farmington has the characters from Harry Potter, they have little booths for the kids, donuts and this YUMMY butter beer...it is so fun. The kids dressed up as a DRAGON and a UTES cheerleader. Too bad the UTES are to great this year. They were so cute!

Soccer Season 2010-2011

Kohen finally turned the magical number 4. You get to do so many things when you turn 4. He has been patiently waiting for the soccer season to begin. We played the first 7 games this last fall, and this spring he will play his last 7 games. He is one awesome little player. We have loved going to his games and watching him play. Not to brag...but he is the best on his team. He scored at least 1 if not 2 or 3 goals every game. I loved watching him light up when he would kick the ball in. He is such a little stud and we are so excited for the games to start back up. Way to go Koh!

Happy Birthday Addison

I can't believe that our Addi girl is really 3...almost 31/2. Time does fly when you are having fun. This little girl is FULL of life and then some. She is always keeping Zach and me on our toes. She has such a SPUNKY little personality and we love every....well almost every minute of it. She is a very determined little girl and knows exactly how to get what she wants...ESPECIALLY from her dad. We are So glad to have our little Addi girl. She is a crack up and we love her so much. Happy Birthday Add we love you tons!

First Day of School!

This was a BIG day at our house! The first day of school for Kohen and Addison. This is Kohen's 2nd year of preschool and Addi's first. I put them in the same school that Kohen went to last year. I was a little hesitant about putting them in the same class. Last year was great for them to get a little break from each other 3 days a week, and to spend one on one time with Addi. Kohen has been an AWESOME big brother like always. He took Addi right under his wing and they LOVE school. We are so lucky to have Zach's sister, Jenniffer teach them. She is so awesome with kids and they are learning a ton. Both of them have such an interest in learning. They have made lots of friends and have the funniest stories to tell.

Bear Lake 2010

At the end of the summer we headed up to Bear Lake with the Gerrard Family. We camped out in the KOA for a week and had a BLAST. John always plans the best trips and we made great memories. The kids loved everything about it. They had a pool, mini golfing, toys, trails to ride bikes...anything a kid would want they had. I loved that I could take a warm shower and had a toilet. Zach got up every morning to head to the lake to get in some good skiing. Addi became a BIG GIRL she got potty trained while we were there, and learned to ride a bike. Kohen LOVED playing in the sand and just doing whatever. The weather at that place was CRAZY! We had rain almost everyday, wind storms like crazy. Kristen's tent ended up tearing in 5 places, tents were flying everywhere. It was a GREAT trip and we made tons of memories!

ReUnited, and it feels so GOOD!

We had such an awesome Summer and I am especially grateful that Zach was home for this event. Zach has a niece, Brittanie who is 17. She lives in New Jersey with her dad, stepmom and 2 little brothers. I have never met her, and neither had my kids. Zach's family had not seen her in over 6 years. Brittanie came in town this last summer and started texting his parents. This was a miracle and soooo many prayers had been answered. We had the opportunity to see Brittanie for a few days. She is a doll. The little girls were glued to her side, and I think that she loved every minute of it. It was amazing like she had always been around. I am so glad that I finally got to meet her and she is a part of our everyday lives. We of course got tons of pics. She is SUCH a beautiful girl...just like her mama.

BoaTinG!

Zach's little brother Zane, bought a boat last fall. After the funeral, we decided to head out with his family and do a little boating! Zane's kids loved it....ours would not leave my side and did not want anything to do with the water. It was a beautiful day...we had a BLAST watching Zane trying to water ski...

He's HoMe...and we are SO excited!

July 8 was a lucky/sad day! Good news was. Zach was able to come home 3 weeks early from Egypt! We were ecstatic!! Bad news, his Grandma Hicks passed away. It was a sad day and she has been such a great grandma to Zach, and such an awesome great grandma to our kids. I am so glad that I was able to meet her and have her apart of our lives. Grandpa isn't quite the same. They were married for almost 60 years and loved each other very much. He took such good care of her. I loved when they would look at each other you could see the love that they had for one another. I am grateful for their example to us. We love and miss Grandma lots.

Life...or Something Like It

I am happy to report that Zach has been gone for 2 months and we only have 23 days LEFT! The time seems to be going by fast. I keep us as busy as possible. This has been an eventful summer to say the least. Addison has had 2 ear infections and a nasty skin virus. We are on our 3rd set of antibiotics, and she is also on Allergy medicine too. Poor little girl, but it doesn't seem to phase her at all. Kohen has been a GREAT kid all around. He is always wanting to help me around the house and he is such a big helper. He loves to water the grass, take out the trash and vacuum. He is really good at whatever I tell him. We are all anticipating having Zach home, especially Kohen.

Zach's uncle Denny passed away on June 29, 2009..we were all a little surprised. Thankfully John was here to take care of everything. He is an amazing person. I only met uncle Denny a few times, but seemed to be a nice person. We headed up to Evanston for a private viewing and a graveside service, it was really nice and I enjoyed seeing where John grew up. The Gerrard side of the family is always so fun to be around. At first I was worried that I would be going without Zach, but I felt very comfortable, just felt bad for Zach that he had to miss it.

Also, Zach's grandma is in the process of passing away, she is one strong lady and is hanging on for one reason or another. Hospice told us last Tuesday that she would pass within 24 hours...she is still with us. Sherie, Zach's mom has been by her side through it all. Grandma Hicks has been so fun to get know. I feel so blessed that my kids got to meet and get to know their great-grandma. She and Grandpa Hicks always have a funny story to tell and always made us laugh. Kohen and Addi loved to give them kisses. We know that Grandma will be out of pain and in a much better place...if she would just let go. I went to visit her about a week ago and was surprised at how frail she was. I told her goodbye and gave her a kiss for Zach, she squeezed my hand when I mentioned Zach. We will have lots of fun memories of her and Grandpa.

We have had lots of fun at Cherry Hill, spending time in Midway with my family and having Aunt Nicole here. Hopefully the next couple weeks fly by....we can't wait to have Zach home.

Zach...You are amazing to me to watch you with our kids. I can't tell you how much they adore and miss you. This has been just as hard on them as it is on you and me. EVERY morning. Kohen asks me how many days til you come home. We are adjusting, but they sure miss playing with you, and playing basketball every Saturday or just taking them to E.G. King. You are making such FUN memories with them that they will never forget. We miss you lots and really hope that you have a WONDERFUL Father's day....you deserve it.
